Introductory flights - from just £169
Your experience will take place at Eshott Airfield - the home of 57OTU during WW2 tasked with training fighter pilots. The airfield is steeped in history and you'll quickly find yourself immersed in the atmosphere of the site.
You'll start your time with us in our incredibly rare WW2 Fordson truck where you'll be briefed by pilots on this beautiful aircraft, the routes you'd like to take and the weather. You'll be kitted out with a military flight suit As with all our flights, you'll have the chance to see some of the most beautiful coastline that the UK has to offer - only this time it will be from a historic Army observer aircraft.
Once we've talked through the experience, you'll make your way out to VF516 which will be waiting on the operating pan outside. You'll climb into the Auster and will find yourself in the cockpit where you'll be talked through the controls and after just a few minutes the vintage aircraft will come to life with the sound of the 40’s as the engine starts. After some checks, the pilot will taxi to the runway and you'll find yourself in the skies above Northumberland.
Family and friends are welcome to join you for the briefing and will be able to get up close with VF516 on the ground. They'll be able to stay at the airfield clubhouse overlooking the runway as you take to the skies.
This introductory flight is sure to get you hooked on the thrill of flying. You’ll have the chance to look around the airfield and talk to staff if you’d like to take things further. All introductory flights are carried out by the Eshott School of Flying Limited at Eshott Airfield.
